End of year updates wrap-up

It's been a long year for BardCanvas. We've been working a lot on debugging, improving and developing new modules for your beloved CMS.

We've also been helping other initiatives that run on top of our engine, and that helped us bring a lot of extras.

Now is time to close the cycle of this year before moving forward.

Updated components

Core updated to version 1.14.2.1:

Added capability for full contents output instead of excerpts.
Tuned the records browser class.

Widgets manager updated to version 2.1.0:

Added support for page tags defined by other modules in the widgets selector.

Accounts module updated to version 1.21.5:

Tuned checks for automatic generation of user names.
Added section identifiers to login forms.
Added extension points.

Posts module updated to version 1.34.1:

RSS feeds additions:
- Added support for full contents output.
- Changed author field from user name to display name.
- Changed links to settings based instead of post ids.
Added login form for unauthenticated users accessing the records browser.

Comments module updated to version 1.12.1:

Added login form for unauthenticated users accessing the records browser.

Triklet module updated to version 1.25.1:

Added categories filtering.
CLI Monitor fixes and additions:
- Added requirements check.
- Changed lockfile path.
- Refactored ticket/message date to incoming email date.
- Tuned logging.
- Added time limit to avoid hangups.
Allowed locally generated responses to show images on the conversation view.
Added setting to manage dates on incoming emails.
Added seen/unseen filters for agents on the tickets browser.
Some cleanup.

Twitter cards module updated to version 1.3.6:

Removed mandatory setting of twitter site to render tags and button.

XML menus editor updated to version 1.2.0:

Added code folding capability to the editor.

Search module updated to version 1.4.3:

Added missing logic to search tags in the post tags table (only looked upon the title and contents).

Geonames module updated to vesion 1.0.3:

Changed updates alert timespan to six months.
Improved table counts to avoid false alarms.
Removed mandatory account check to allow guest data pulls.

Single Sign On module updated to version 0.1.1:

Added check to avoid malformed user names.
Added check to avoid errors on account relinks.

New modules

Remote authentication server & client: these modules will help sibling websites use single sign on technology from a private perspective. The Growers International websites network needed something like this: the Grower Club is the memberships server, and the rest of the websites in the network provide different services relying on the Club's credentials system. Account syncing works across all the sites in the network.
These modules aren't fully available at the moment. We'll document them afterwards and provide licensing access to them as premium modules.
BardCommerce: our own cart system. It is still on development, but we're making it a top quality product. Our first customers will be the Blockchain Financial and Grower Supplies websites, so you can expect BardCommerce to support cryptocurrencies!
Accounts Special info and Fixer.io interface are other modules we've been working on. They'll be required by BardCommerce, but they've been set as separate modules because we plan to use them on other modules. The first one provides private user information management (E.G. id photos, mailing addresses, etc.) and the second will provide fiat to fiat on-screen conversions using the Fixer API.
Task-O-Matic: a tasks list and slim project manager. This module is still in development, but we're already using it to keep track of our own projects. We'll have to invest some time on it before it is ready for release, but we'll throw an open beta somewhere in the first quarter of the next year.
